Whtape Tamper evident security tape is normally made of 25 micron PET film and acrylic adhesive. They are security solutions designed to reveal any unauthorized access to a sealed item. We supply tamper evident tape with and without liner. It can be mainly divided into 3 transfer types-full transfer, partial transfer and non transfer.

When tamper evident security tape or labels are removed from the surface of the applied object, a pre-set anti-counterfeit pattern, such as “VOID” or “VOID OPEN,” will permanently remain on the surface, indicating that the seal has been broken. The label cannot be restored, serving as a clear sign of tampering. We support custom printing tamper evident tape.

3 Main Types of tamper evident security tape:

Tamper evident security tapes are designed to show visible signs of tampering if someone attempts to remove them. There are three main types: half transfer, full transfer, and no transfer. Each type leaves different evidence when tampered with, depending on the application needs.

1. Half Transfer Tape:
– Description: This type of tape leaves a partial adhesive residue with a printed message (e.g., “VOID” or “OPENED”) on the surface when removed.
– Usage: Ideal for surfaces where residue is acceptable and the tamper-evidence needs to be easily visible. Commonly used on boxes, envelopes, or containers.
– Example: If someone removes the tape, part of the adhesive stays on the package, revealing a message that indicates tampering.

2. Full Transfer Tape:
– Description:When removed, this tape leaves the entire adhesive layer and message behind on the surface. The tape itself becomes unusable after being removed.
– Usage: Best for applications where high security is required, such as sealing important documents or securing high-value products. This ensures that any tampering is clearly visible.
– Example: The tape leaves a complete “VOID” or other security message on the surface, making it evident that the seal has been broken.

3. No Transfer Tape:
– Description: This type does not leave any adhesive residue on the surface when removed. Instead, the tape itself changes appearance, often revealing a tamper-evident message on the tape.
-Usage: Suitable for surfaces where adhesive residue is undesirable, like electronics, luxury goods, or sensitive equipment.
– Example: Upon removal, the tape shows a “VOID” message directly on the tape material, without leaving residue on the surface.

Key Differences:
– Residue: Half transfer leaves partial residue, full transfer leaves complete residue, and no transfer leaves no residue.
– Visibility: Half and full transfer tapes provide clear tamper evidence on the surface, while no transfer provides evidence on the tape itself.
– Application Needs: Choose based on whether residue is acceptable or necessary for security, and the level of tamper evidence required.

These differences help determine the best type of tamper-evident tape for specific security needs, balancing visibility of tampering and cleanliness of the application surface.

Applications:

1. Seal Label: Widely used in logistics, aviation, express delivery, documents, letters, warehousing, etc. The anti-counterfeit seal label is applied to the seal of items to prevent documents, mail, and packages from being opened or tampered with without authorization. It helps identify unauthorized or illegal openings of sealed items.

2. Tamper-Evident Label: Widely used in IT, electronics, appliances, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and retail sectors. Tamper-evident labels are applied to products to prevent labels from being lifted and reused, helping to identify unauthorized or illegal openings of sealed products.

3. Warranty Label: Commonly used in IT, electronics, and appliances. The warranty label is affixed to critical junctions of products to prevent the product or contents of the packaging from being opened, altered, or stolen, helping to identify unauthorized openings that lead to illegal warranty claims due to product damage.

4. Quality Assurance Label: Widely used in IT, electronics, appliances, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and retail. Before products leave the factory, the quality assurance label is affixed to the products as a mark of the company’s commitment to quality for its customers. It serves to enhance product image, provide quality assurance, and increase customer confidence in the product.
